Gwen has been a practicing fitness professional since 1990.  Her current practice includes private yoga trainings, class instruction, team instruction and her Power Yoga for Sports, sports specific training, International travel to teach, TV appearances, Writing, Workshops and radio contributions.  She has trained people around the world in 19 countries.  Gwen's unique combination of dance, massage therapy, and yoga training experience, coupled with her extensive knowledge of anatomy and nutrition, provides her clients and athletes with overwhelming results.  

Gwen Is the yoga instructor for many teams over the years including the NY Giants, NY Knicks, NY Mets, NY Redbulls, NY Rangers, NYC FC and members of the NY Yankees, several major colleges like: Columbia, Yale, Manhattan, UNC and many more.

Gwen owns her own Yoga school registered to certify students with 200 and 300-hour trainings along with her online Power Yoga for Sports Teacher Training.

module 1

In this course we will go over 34+ common yoga poses, we will learn the specific how-to’s of the construction and geometry of each pose.  

This will be a participatory class.  In addition, we will learn:

  • What to look for in the pose
  • Contraindications
  • Benefits and roles of the pose
  • Hands on adjustments 
  • Verbal cues to teach the pose

 

You will go over pose book 1&2.  Recommended but not required is:

  • A powerful yoga for relaxation technique
  • Simple meditation techniques to help clear your mind of excess chatter and distraction.
  • Body alignment issues
  • We will briefly touch on benefits of mindfulness, Learn several breathing techniques.
  • Review the best long holds, the how’s and why’s
  • Best poses and routines for shoulders back and arms
  • Best poses for hamstrings hips and knees
  • Best poses for core strength and balance
  • In depth question and answer (bring your questions and concerns)
  • Proper goal setting techniques
